What is 4-HO-MiPT?

4-Hydroxy-N-methyl-N-isopropyltryptamine, also known as 4-HO-MiPT or Miprocin, is a psychedelic substance belonging to the tryptamine class. It exhibits psilocybin-like effects and belongs to a series of substituted tryptamines, including 4-AcO-DMT and 4-HO-DiPT. Synthesized in 1981 by chemists led by David Repke, it was described by Alexander Shulgin as the most interesting and the only one with classic hallucinogenic effects. Shulgin’s personal experiences, along with other anecdotal reports, suggest that 4-HO-MiPT has similar activity to psilocin, the active ingredient in psilocybin mushrooms.

4-HO-MiPT effects

The subjective effects of 4-HO-MiPT, also known as “Miprocin,” vary somewhat between individuals and should be viewed with a healthy degree of skepticism. While these effects are not predictable or consistent, it is believed that higher doses can elicit a wide range of experiences, with the positive effects predominating.
